Millbrae
Welcome to Millbrae,
Millbrae was incorporated as a city in 1948, but its history dates back to the 1860s when it was known as "Possum Hollow" due to the large number of opossums found in the area. The city's name was later changed to Millbrae, which is a combination of "mill" and "brae," a Scottish word meaning "hillside" or "slope."
One of the notable features of Millbrae is its close proximity to San Francisco International Airport (SFO), which is located just south of the city. In fact, the airport's runways extend into Millbrae, and many of the city's residents are employed in the aviation industry.
